Once upon a time we started out as a joke band called What the Funk. After a few shows people started to really dig what we were doing, so we moved away from the joke and began a trek through absolute seriousity…

As the band progressed, we changed the name to WTfunk, I guess it sounded a bit more professional. One night our good friend Mike Henderson announced us as the William Thompson Funk Experiment. We liked it, and the rest is history.

William Thompson Funk Experiment has become quite the spectacle. A uniquely interactive show experience featuring a group of musical talents that put high stock in making sure you leave feeling uplifted and truly entertained. The band delivers tight hard-hitting original tunes that have a way of pulling fans right into their fantasy laced world of fun and bewilderment. WTFeX invites you to leave your worries at the doorstep and come and get down.

WTFeX has played numerous venues in the new England area including: Electric Haze Hookah Bar, The Spot Underground, Manchester 65,Tammany Hall, the former Harpers Ferry, Lowell Brewery exchange, Beatniks, The Cannery, The Lucky Dog Music Hall, Church Boston and The Precinct with acts that include: The Pimps of Joytime,The Nth Power, Twiddle, The Breakfast, The McLovins,Peter Prince and the Moon Boot Lovers, Afroman, The Ever Expanding Elastic Waste Band (members of Morphine), Goosepimp Orchestra, Danny Bedrosian and Secret Army(members of Parliament Funkadelic), Fikus, The Alchemystics, D.P.R (Danny Pease and the Regulators), Van Gordon Martin Band, Cosmic Dust Bunnies, Jabooda, Moxa, Viral Sound, Background Orcs and Big Ol’ Dirty Bucket. The band has also played numerous festivals in the area which include Strangecreek Music Festival, Wormtown Music Festival, Camp Coldbrook, Discjam, Evolvefest(New Jersey) and the Open Road Festival alongside acts such as Bernie Worrell Orchestra, Karl Densons Tiny Universe, Consider the Source, O’teil Burbridge, Eliot Lipp, Dopapod, Rusted Root, Max Creek, Lionize, Goosepimp Orchestra, Rubblebucket, Break Science, Ten Foot Ganja Plant, Fungus Amongus, Kung Fu, Zack Deputy, Strangefolk, Turkuaz and Ryan Montbleau Band.
